PROFILE

My name is Taylor Rivera. I am a senior at University of Nevada Las Vegas. I am a journalism major with a current GPA of a 3.5. I am on the UNLV Rodeo team and compete in barrels, breakaway, and team roping. I graduated High School from Laurel Srings with a honors and a GPA of 4.3. With my college degree I would like to continue to work in sports journalism.

EXPERIENCE

Associate Producer Intern, Las Vegas Events (National Finals Rodeo) Las Vegas, NV 2019-Present

I have worked with the marketing department mainly to film, edit, and produce content for all events surrounding the National Finals Rodeo.  My responsibilities also included working in the TV truck every night during the live events, producing the promotional crawls at the bottom of the screen.

 

 

Game Night Staff, Vegas Golden Knights, Las Vegas, Nevada- 2019- 2020

I work in the communications department.  My responsibilities include credential sign ins, stat running to press deck and lockers, assisting with post game press conferences, post game player interviews, press box attending, and others depending on the needs of individual games.

Media Intern, College National Finals Rodeo, Casper, Wyoming-2019

At the Collegiate Nationals Finals Rodeo each year the top athletes from every school to compete for the national title.  I wrote feature stories about competitors, interviewed winners, and wrote daily schedules and summaries for both social media and local papers.

Social Media Manager, Usher Brand, Phoenix, Arizona — 2017-Present

For Usher Brand, I manage their website, Facebook, and Instagram.  I post weekly updates of our athletes and the success they are having in our products.  We make both silver and saddles, so I promote and share information for both lines.

Social Media Manager, American Family Feed, Norco, California — 2017- 2019

I run social media and advertising for American Family Feed.  By running their Facebook, website, and Instagram, I help to share information about the products, as well as advertising and showing clients success stories with our feed.

SKILLS

• Communication- Working for an NHL team involves dealing with hundreds of people per game. I have learned to communicate efficiently with people to assist them and keep things running smoothly.

• Customer Service- Satisfying customers was my main goal with every order. The two companies I worked for strive off of having many customers and repeating customers. My job and goal was to make the customer happy and a repeated customer. 

• Time Management- Managing two jobs, rodeoing, and completing college with a respectable GPA has taught me to mange my time in the most efficient way. Being organize helps me stay on top of all my work in order to be successful. 

• Leadership- Throughout High School I played many leadership roles such as, President of the California High School Rodeo Association. I also have been giving lesson and being a role-model to young kids in rodeo for over 8 years.
